Stress Away, Lavender, Cedarwood

If someone were to ask me what got me hook on essential oils, my answer would be simple: Cedarwood, Stress Away, Lavender. That’s it!! Stress Away Lavender CedarwoodThis combination is my favorite for a number of reasons – the main reason being, the benefits it provides for a restful night’s sleep. I think my first eye opening experience with EOs would be diffusing this combination at night, while unwinding from the day and getting ready for bed. Before starting my normal nightly routine I added 3 drops of each oil into my dewdrop diffuser. After I finished washing my face and getting situated for the night, I climbed into bed. As I laid down and took a few deep breaths I actually found myself feeling more at ease and relaxed than any other typical night in the past.

This was enough for me to be hook, but it actually got better…for the first time in a while I woke up that next morning feeling completely rested and ready for the day ahead.  Now, for those of you who may not know me, here’s a fun fact: I am not a morning person. I repeat, I am not a morning person. The majority of my mornings consist of waking up at 5:30am to the lovely whining of my youngest dog, Beretta, ready (and insistent) for her breakfast. I stumble out of our bedroom, my eyes barely focusing properly, find my way downstairs, and let the dogs outside. I bring them back in, feed them, and try to convince them that we can really go back to sleep for another 30 minutes or so before I have to get ready for work. Thankfully, my husband is really great and we alternate mornings of getting up with the pups. That being said, when I woke up at 5:30 feeling awake, alert, and well rested I instantly thought I was late for work and assumed it was much later in the morning than it really was. After the mild panic attacked, I happily checked the clock (a few times) and realized that it was actually 5:30am and I was just ready for the day ahead.

Being a bit of a skeptic, I wasn’t ready to instantly chalk this victory up to the essential oils. But, after a few more days of the same consistent feelings I soon realized that this was in fact a direct result of the oils. I’ve since made setting up our diffuser with Cedarwood, Stress Away, and Lavender a necessary part of my nightly routine. It’s even to the point that my husband will ask me to put the oils on in the rare chance that I forget. GAME CHANGER! I’m telling you, even if you have no issues sleeping at night (which I really never have had) and feel well rested in the mornings usually, give this combination a try – you won’t regret it!

For those reading that do use EOs in your day to day lives, what was your “ahh-ha” moment? When did you realize just how fascinating these oils are? When did you get hooked? Feel free to leave your experiences in the comments below, I love to hear how these oils are being used!
